What to Expect Moving Forward
Live. Love. Swim! is currently in a season of transition and growth.
Future lessons will take place at the upcoming Mini Nautical Center, a year-round instructional swim space being developed in Memphis.
This shift will allow for more consistent, accessible, and sustainable swim instruction for the community.
Travel Lessons
Swim lessons are currently paused as Coach Marla focuses on her health and treatment.
When lessons resume, they will primarily take place at the Live. Love. Swim! Mini Nautical Center in Memphis.
Limited travel lessons may be available in the future based on location, scheduling, and overall program capacity. Additional travel fees may apply and will be shared at that time.
Travel availability will be limited and may not be offered year-round.
Out-of-Region Lessons
Out-of-region lessons may be available in select cities based on interest, scheduling, and overall capacity.
To schedule out-of-region lessons, a minimum number (8) of committed swimmers will be required in the same area. Details, including session structure and scheduling, will be shared based on the specific request.
All out-of-region lessons are scheduled intentionally to ensure a high-quality experience and proper planning.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Cancellations and rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson time.
Late cancellations or missed lessons may result in the loss of that session, as each lesson time is reserved specifically for the swimmer.
Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and will be offered at Coach Marla’s discretion based on availability and scheduling.
In the event of a medical or emergency situation, accommodations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Lesson Day Reminders
The following guidelines are in place to ensure a safe, focused, and high-quality learning environment:
- Lessons take place in private, controlled instructional settings only. Public pools and shared gym facilities, including locations such as the YMCA, are not used.
- Sessions begin promptly. Late arrivals may result in shortened lesson time.
- Clear communication and preparation prior to each lesson help ensure a smooth and productive experience.
Guidelines
Equipment
All equipment is provided.
Please do not bring armbands or floatation devices, as they can create a false sense of security and slow skill development.
What to Wear
Swimsuits or swim trunks are required. Please avoid extra-long or heavy clothing, as it can impact movement in the water.
Remove jewelry and secure long hair prior to lessons. Swim caps can be worn please please keep in mind that do NOT keep your hair from getting wet.
Goggles
Goggles are optional. If worn, they should not cover the nose.
For children, goggles should be adjusted before the lesson begins to avoid delays.
During Lessons
Parents and guardians may be asked to remain at a short distance (at least 5 ft) from the pool to support focus and safety during instruction.
Additional guidance will be provided as needed to ensure a positive learning environment.
Package Cancellations
- Package cancellations must be submitted in advance of the first scheduled lesson.
- Refund eligibility will depend on timing and program scheduling, as lesson slots are reserved specifically for each swimmer.
- Once lessons have begun, refunds are not guaranteed. Exceptions may be considered in the case of medical or emergency situations and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- All cancellation decisions are made with fairness, consistency, and program sustainability in mind.
